Governing the Uprooted: Rehabilitation of the Partition Refugees and the Idea of Indian Governance, 1947-1971
India achieved its independence on August 15, 1947 ending nearly two hundred years of British rule amidst a severe fratricidal fight between the Hindus and the Muslims. The conflict was so intense that the unity of nation was endangered. This lecture deals with the way governance in the new nation was affected by the crisis that attended its birth.

Twisted light ( sv. "skruvat ljus") is a property of electromagnetic radiation which can be used to increase the information carried by light in laser physics and in classical as well as quantum-based communication systems. It has also applications in astrophysics and general relativity. Examples from different frequency ranges will be given.
