Model Checking of Software Systems under Weak Memory Models
When a program is compiled and run on a modern architecture, different optimizations may be applied to gain in efficiency. In particular, the access operations (e.g., read and write) to the shared memory may be performed in an out-of-order manner, i.e., in a different order than the order in which the operations have been issued by the program.
Understanding Heparan Sulfate Biosynthesis and Functional Implications of Heparanase
Heparan sulfate (HS) proteoglycans are present on the plasma membrane of all animal cells studied so far and are a major component of extracellular matrices. Heparanase is an endo-ß-glucuronidase that cleaves HS chains at internally located ß-glucuronidic linkages1. Except its conventional enzymatic function, non-enzyme function and its function in the nucleus have been demonstrated recently.
References are a programming language construct that lets a programmer access a datum invariant of its location.
