Michael Davitt (1950 - 2005) was originally from Cork City, but he learned Irish and arguably had his first poetic inspiration in an Irish-speaking region in County Kerry called Corca Dhuibhne.
This lecture is being organised as part of the Celtic Section's course on 20th century poetry in the Irish language, and is open to the public.
In the meantime, listen to the poet's voice here.
