Elvira Brattico, Aarhus University: "The Neuroaesthetics of Music: A Research Field Coming of Age"
In this talk, I will present an overview on the state-of-the-art research under the agenda of the neuroaesthetics of music. This research agenda, inspired by the neuroaesthetics of visual art, represents a paradigm shift from neuroimaging studies covering music perception, cognition and emotion to studies that focus on aesthetic responses such as liking, preference, and aesthetic judgment. I will also summarise the latest neuroaesthetic models, pointing at neural connectivity between specific brain regions as the driving machinery for aesthetic enjoyment of music, as well as my own proposal.
