Effective use of clicker questions
Wednesday Nov 6, 13:15-15:00
Clickers are used more and more in our teaching, not least as a way for introducing more student active methods in our courses. Depending on the types of questions, clickers can meet many different goals. You might want to check the students' understanding of an important concept or of a module in the course; or you would like to initiate a discussion on a certain topic. Maybe you would like to get the students´ to reflect on their own learning, or simply just make a quick evaluation of a lecture, a lab or an assignment?
The technology is easy to use, but how do we create clicker questions that are effective? In this workshop we will discuss different types of clicker questions that can be effective depending on the goal you have. We will also share experiences and you will have time to actually construct clicker questions for courses you teach.
