Contributing authors have updated their contributions. Eight new chapters of great topicality have been included, including one on anti-Muslim racism (Islamophobia) and its consequences. The book consists of three parts. Part I addresses the theory of ethnic relations in relation to social stratification, integration and power relations. Part II highlights the conditions for the five national minorities in Sweden. Part III describes Swedish immigration and refugee policy, and the situation of unaccompanied young people. It also deals with discrimination in the labor market, housing segregation, crime, migration and health, honor, gender equality and masculinity, as well as the media's construction of immigrants.
