Literature seminar: Do students really know best what learning methods suit them?

The findings in the article by Deslauriers and colleagues, challenge us to be more sceptical of students sometimes negative responses to active teaching methods. Some students might feel they do not learn as much from the active approach, but this article indicates these students might be wrong. How can we communicate this to the students and what implications does it have for the teaching?
