Circus årliga “Interdisciplinary Garden Party”

This year we are meeting in person on the sunny afternoon 2 June at 15.30–17.00 in the garden outside the Old Observatory. The prime format is the classic mingle with food, drinks and some entertainment. On informal display will also be some of what our research networks groups are working on. 

The interdisciplinary garden party is for researchers and others at Uppsala University who are involved in, or curious about, cross-cutting research collaborations. It is a moment to come together to share what we all are working on and what is otherwise on our minds. 

We feel that these unsettling times make it as crucial as ever to meet and talk about matters small and large with old and new acquaintances. A crucial part of the human experience is to meet and try to make sense of it all in exploratory conversations. What places can a meandering conversation visit when they are given different points of departure? Where will it go when someone randomly hums the latest Lars Winnerbäck tune, when another one refers to a comforting bit of news, or when yet another one quotes Dickens out of the blue? Indeed, what new ideas might be spurned when different research endeavors congregate at a garden party?
